Scottish National Fat Stock Club

Welcome to the home page of the Scottish National Fat Stock Club. I am pleased to announce that the Limited Liability Partnership which was set up in 2008 with the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society for Scotland will continue for the 2011 Royal Highland Winter Fair which will take place on Wednesday 23th November at Ingliston. The FREE ENTRY and FREE CAR PARKING which we offered for the first time last year was a great hit with spectators and will be continued for this year.

The Scottish Premier Meat Exhibition will this year take place on 16th November at Caledonian Marts, Stirling, who have now hosted this part of the show for two years with great success.  Last year a reception after the judging was appreciated by many exhibitors, judges and sponsors, so thanks to our many sponsors who support the live part of this event. The carcase show will be, as usual at Scotbeef, Bridge of Allan on Saturday 19th November.

The Royal Highland Winter Fair continues to go from strength to strength, we were once again delighted with the superb show of livestock in 2010, which many believe to be the best anywhere in the UK. Visitors also enjoyed a lively and topical question time based on animal health while QMS supported an excellent Sheep Foot Paring demonstration, which was so popular we had to put an extra session on! The Cook of of Champions was entertaining to say the least, while chef, Tom Kirkpatrick, put on a great display of cooking skills which was enjoyed by a few of the ladies present.

We were delighted that Scot Proteins Ltd - a major player in waste displosal from the Scottish meat industry, came back on board as our major sponsor last year and thank you very much to them.

Premier Meat Exhibition entries were excellent again last year and a record number of exhibitors and industry leaders enjoyed the fantastic lunch and social occasion on the Saturday courtesy of two of the Club's biggest supporters - Scotbeef and Marks and Spencer.

The pony show was again a success at Stirlng Agricultural Centre in November and we were so lucky it took place the day before the snow hit!

This year we have extra reason to celebrate as we look forward to out 100th show. We have lots of plans to make the 2011 Winter Fair special and I look forward to welcoming you all to one or all of our events.
